Learn more about Classroom Alternatives and how online learning is different from homeschooling and in-person learning. Learning more about your choices will help you decide which option is right for you.

Online Learning BC is a hub for information about Provincial Online Learning Schools. These schools were selected through an expression of interest and panel review process to provide high-quality K-12 online learning services to students across B.C. For contact information for all B.C. public and independent schools, visit B.C. K-12 School and District Contact Information. You may also search on your school district’s website to find a B.C. district online learning school.

Grades 10-12 students who are already enrolled in a neighbourhood school may take additional courses through a Provincial Online Learning School. Please contact the school to find out if this option is available.

Grades 8-9 students who are already enrolled in a neighbourhood school may take additional courses through a Provincial Online Learning School and in accordance with funding rules. Please contact the school to find out if this option is available.

Kindergarten-Grade 7 students must be enrolled in a program full time. These students can enrol full time in a Provincial Online Learning School but cannot take only part of a program through a Provincial Online Learning School.

Students permanently living outside B.C. are not eligible to enrol in schools in B.C.

Students temporarily living outside B.C. need to meet certain requirements to enrol in a Provincial Online Learning School. Contact the school for more information.

Each Provincial Online Learning School offers B.C. curriculum taught by B.C. certified teachers or Letter of Permission holders and a wide range of support and programming. Please contact the school to find out more.

Students can graduate at a Provincial Online Learning School. For information about B.C. graduation requirements for the B.C. Dogwood Diploma, French Immersion/Francophone Dual Dogwood, or Adult Graduation Diploma, visit Certificates of Graduation.

District Online Learning Schools serve students who reside in their district only. Visit your district’s website to find information about local online programs.

A total of 18 school districts and 16 independent school authorities have signed Agreements to operate Provincial Online Learning Schools. The full list of schools is provided below (see locations in map).
