SIDES Grade One Program continues to build upon the foundational skills acquired in Kindergarten. All core subjects are covered, with continued emphasis on hands-on, inquiry-based learning. There is a strong focus on reading, writing, and math skills.
The Grade 2 program fosters student choice and independence. Core subjects are delivered in both teacher and student-paced formats. Students work through daily integrated lessons while receiving consistent guidance and feedback from the teacher.

SIDES Grade 6 program allows students to fully engage with the BC curriculum covering the subjects of English, Math, Science, Socials, Art, ADST, Careers, PHE, and French. Students work closely with their home facilitator with support from subject teachers.
SIDES Grade 7 program allows students to fully engage with the BC curriculum covering the subjects of English, Math, Science, Socials, Art, ADST, Careers, PHE, and French. Students work closely with their home facilitator with support from subject teachers.
Grade 8 is a 10-month, full grade, program. Courses such as PHE, French and Exploratories (Art, ADST, Career Ed) have teacher-directed timelines for completion. Other courses may be self-paced. It is expected that students will work with a home facilitator as necessary.
SIDES Inclusive (Special) Education Program works with full-time students from K to 12. The team works collaboratively with school and district staff, parents, and community partners to ensure the success and individual achievement of all students.
SIDES Kindergarten is a play-based, inquiry driven program that includes all core subjects. Lessons are developed with the BC Early Learning Framework and First Peoples Principles of Learning’s vision of respectfully living and learning together.

This course is an introduction to 20th century world history with a particular emphasis on world conflicts and their impact on people. Students will study apartheid, Jim Crow Laws, the Holocaust, technological advancements in warfare plus much more.
Active Living 11 combines physical activity, leadership, and fair play principles to help students enhance their quality of life through active living. Key topics include confidence, community recreation, nutrition, body image, and lifelong healthy choices.

Anatomy and Physiology 12 focuses on the relationship between structures and functions of the human body. Students will explore the macro and micro aspects of these relationships, and how body processes integrate to maintain homeostasis.
In this course, we'll explore the history, cultural beliefs, and traditions of the W̱SÁNEĆ Peoples, focusing on their efforts to reclaim identity and community. Topics include the importance of land and language, "the right to hunt and fish as formerly," the Douglas Treaties, and the significance of family and community.
Calculus 12 introduces calculus as an analytical tool as it applies to written or graphical functions. Students will be able to calculate derivatives and integrals of these functions and apply them to an understanding of underlying relationships.
Career-Life Connections 12 helps students explore a range of life pathways, focus on their own health and wellness, and understand the importance of mentors and networking. Students focus on transition planning and are introduced to the Capstone project.

CLE10 helps students develop the skills they need to become self-directed individuals who set goals and make thoughtful decisions. The course encourages students to explore career pathways, develop health and wellness goals, and polish their employability and financial planning skills.
Chemistry 11 provides an introduction to matter and their interactions. Topics include safety & measurement, matter & naming, the mole & calculations, stoichiometry & limiting reactants, atoms, periodic table, & solutions and organic chemistry.
Chemistry 12 builds on Chem 11 & is aimed at students heading into sciences, medicine & engineering. Topics include the study of reaction kinetics & rates, chemical systems, dynamic equilibrium including acid base and solubility & electrochemistry.

Contemporary Indigenous Studies 12 is an examination of various contemporary issues facing Indigenous communities in Canada and the colonial practices that have caused these issues.
Students will explore and write in a variety of genres, including poetry, fiction and creative nonfiction; they will be encouraged to take risks, deepen their writing practice, and become ever more precise and intentional in their use of language.
